e-Courier from TaxCycle

Email may be a convenient way to send documents to your clients, however it is not a secure method for sending sensitive information That's why TaxCycle has partnered with e-courier.ca to offer you a secure method for sending electronic documents to your clients and colleagues.

Sign up for a free 10-day e-Courier trial

To sign up for a free 10-day trial account on e-courier.ca, enter your email address in TaxCycle Options:

  1. Go to the File menu, then click on Options.
  2. On the left side of the dialog box, expand TaxCycle, then Organization and click on e-courier.ca.
  3. On the right side, enter the email address you want to use for your e-courier.ca account and press Enter.
  4. A message will appear offering you a free 10-day trial. Click the link to go to the e-courier.ca page and set up your trial account.

Set up your account in TaxCycle

To configure sending with e-courier.ca, you must first enter the email address in TaxCycle Options.

  1. Go to the File menu, then click on Options.
  2. On the left side of the dialog box, expand TaxCycle, then Organization and click on e-courier.
  3. On the right side, enter the email address associated with your e-courier.ca account and press Enter to verify there is an account on file.
  4. Click OK to save your e-courier.ca email account login.

Select e-Courier when printing

  1. Open a tax return.
  2. To attach a PDF of a form—such as the T183—go that form, the press Ctrl+Shift+P (or click on Tools then Print Form) to open the single form print box. See the Print/PDF a single form help topic for more information.
  3. To attach a PDF of a print set—such as the Client Copy—click on the Print/PDF sidebar, or press Ctrl+P. Then, click the edit link to open the print configuration. See the Print/PDF a tax return help topic for more information.
  4. In Printer/Output, select PDF or Microsoft XPS.
  5. In the Save to/Email, select the email cover letter template that starts with e-Courier. See the Email templates help topic to learn how to create your own. 
  6. To use these settings to use every time you print a the form or print set, click the Save these settings links.
  7. Click Generate PDF to print the form or print set immediately and create the email message.
  8. A new window will open to the e-courier.ca website. If you are not already logged into the site, you will be asked to enter your e-courier.ca password.
  9. If the person you are sending to does not yet have an account on e-courier.ca, you will be asked to create a guest account for the person so they can receive the package. This also adds the person to your e-courier.ca address book.
  10. If you did not have an email set in the file in TaxCycle, you can choose someone from your e-courier.ca address book.
  11. TaxCycle will have prepared a message with the contents of the e-courier.ca template you selected and will attach the PDF document to the message. You can review and change the wording of the message before sending.
  12. Press Send Secure e-Package to send the document
