Starting on May 15, 2017, the CRA will replace the previous RC59 form, which allowed you to grant or cancel online, phone or mail access to your client's business account, with three separate processes or forms. The new process consists of:
- Granting online access through Represent a client as described on the CRA page, or as indicated at the top of the existing or new RC59 forms.
- Granting phone or mail access using the new form, RC59 (17), Business Consent. This form cannot be used to grant online access.
- Cancelling an authorization using the new form RC59X, Cancel Business Consent or Delegated Authority.
TaxCycle T1, T2, T3 and T5013 modules currently use the existing version of the RC59 (05/2016) form. For a limited transition period after May 15, 2017, the CRA will accept this form for authorizing online and phone/mail access as well as for cancelling authorizations. We will release new 2017 modules over the coming months and these will use the new RC59 and RC59X forms.
