Reminder: Pre-authorized debit (PAD) payments made today will not be received in time for the April 30, 2018 deadline

If you are offering the electronic creation of Pre-authorized debit payments (PAD) to your T1 clients this year, we would like to remind you that the last day to set up a payment so it would be received in time for the April 30, 2018 deadline was Monday, April 23, 2018.

Pre-authorized debit payments must be set up at least 5 business days in advance of the withdrawal. In addition, any payments made to the CRA through Pre-authorized debit are considered on time based on the date they are received by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Since the due date for payments this year is April 30, 2018, the last day for creating a PAD request and still have it considered on time was Monday, April 23, 2018. Any PAD requests made after that date will be received after April 30, 2018 and will not be considered on time.
