Revenu Québec certified: TP1 NetFile

TaxCycle T1/TP1 is certified for NetFile Québec. You can begin filing your TP1 returns online.

Age of eligibility for the Québec age amount reverted to 65

Revenu Québec is reverting the age eligibility for the age amount from 66 back to 65. This change is a result of the 2015-16 Budget Speech, when, in response to an announcement in the speech, the Taxation Act was amended to gradually raise the minimum age of eligibility for the amount with respect to age.

TaxCycle now calculates the credit based on whether the taxpayer would be 65 before 2016. View our blog post for more details, or refer to the information bulletin available here: http://www.finances.gouv.qc.ca/documents/bulletins/en/BULEN_2017-4-a-b.pdf

New TP-1029.BF Tax Shield form

Use the TP-1029.BF to calculate the amount of the Québec tax shield. Taxpayers can calculate and claim the credit on their tax returns, or ask Revenu Québec to calculate it for them. You can make this election at the top of the form.

Field code change on the T1-ADJ

In preparation for ReFILE, we have modified the T1- ADJ form. This change will affect all the field codes on the form. If you have created any templates using these field codes, please review them. You should be able to search and replace the changed section of the code to quickly update your templates

Old field code example:
CurrentClient.T1ADJ[0].Identification.Name

New field code example:
CurrentClient.Adjustments[0].T1ADJ.Identification.Name

Also note we are not providing any conversion of existing T1-ADJs in 2016 as the form was in Preview and not ready to file up until this release.

Built-in template changes
