We are creating a section for documentation topics. During the transition, older topics will remain this section under the support menu. The search box below searches both sets of pages.


Organizing source documents

Once you have created a DoxCycle client file and have scanned or imported client documents into DoxCycle, the next step is organizing the information so that it is useful to you during preparation and review. Fortunately, DoxCycle does most of this automatically for you!

Outlines specify the way that DoxCycle organizes the pages in the DoxCycle PDF. DoxCycle comes with built-in outlines, or you can create your own custom outline.

All documents appear in the document index at the side of the DoxCycle window. This is like a table of contents of a DoxCycle PDF file.

Hover over a document to the Page Assistant, the green bar at the top of the page. The Page Assistant is an alternate way to edit details about the document, instead of using the document index. Changes made here update the index.

To handle multi-page documents, you can either select tell DoxCycle that it is a multi-page document before scanning or group the pages into a multi-page document after scanning.

When you create a DoxCycle file, it must contain at least one taxpayer. If later you decide to add more, it's easy to do. Use these same steps to update the name of an existing taxpayer

If you forget to select the document type before scanning or if DoxCycle can't recognize a document, it will mark the document as Unclassified and open the Classification Assistant to guide you through setting document details like type, issuer and taxpayer.

Just like in TaxCycle, press F4 to to quickly find and jump to a particular source document.
