Release Highlights

Changed Template Functions for E-signatures

To resolve an issue with requesting e-signatures on templates (such as the engagement or pre/post-season letters) through TaxFolder or DocuSign®, we changed the anchor code used to place the signature and the date signed within the templates.

If you use the default built-in templates that come with TaxCycle, you do not need to make configuration changes.

If you customized those built-in templates at all (or created your own), you will need to replace the anchors for the signature and date signed with the new functions. Depending on the template, the code is slightly different. For example, in the ELetter template, you must

  1. Set the Signature Id in template properties to ELetter.
  2. Replace {{ CurrentClient.Anchor.Signature }} with {{ anchor(CurrentClient,"ELetter").Signature }}
  3. Replace {{ CurrentClient.Anchor.DateSigned }} with {{ anchor(CurrentClient,"ELetter").DateSigned }}

For details of the affected templates and instructions on how to adjust any custom templates, see the New Template Functions for E-signatures help topic.

Resolved Issues

  • An issue in TaxCycle T2 and T5013 involving class 10.1 additions on Schedule 8 for CCA purchases in the year of acquisition. When entering a trade-in amount in excess of $30,000, TaxCycle understated the addition amount.
  • Error message 61837 displaying when you transmit a CO-17 return that contains form CO-1029.8.36.II. The message asked you to attach a completed copy of form CO-1029.8.36.II to claim the tax credit for investment and innovation when it was already included in the return.
  • CO-17 returns rejected with error code 54570 stating that the transmission did not include the corporation's financial statements.
  • CO-17 jacket line 440 (Instalment made) now includes the amount of income tax withheld at source from line 28b of the CO-17 jacket
