CRA Calculation Error: Manitoba Renters Tax Credit

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has identified an incorrect calculation in their system when a taxpayer has an amount at line 61255 and is claiming the Manitoba Renters Tax Credit. The system does not reduce the renters tax credit portion at line 74 of form MB479 by the fraction at line 61255.

The CRA has confirmed that they will reassess any affected returns later which could alter the amount owing or the refund to the taxpayer.
