The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced that, starting in April 2024 for the 2023 base year, the rural supplement included in the Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR) will be increased from 10% to 20% of the base amount.
However, the increase to 20% is currently pending Royal Assent and will be implemented once it is received. For this reason, clients who qualify for the rural top-up may still receive the 10% rural supplement instead of the calculated 20%.
