RESOLVED: CRA AuthRep Disruption

We've received word from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) that the disruption to the Authorizing or Cancelling a Representative Web service is resolved.

Anything transmitted on Monday, October 17 that received an error will need to be resubmitted.

If you transmitted on Tuesday, October 18 and received the error message (see below) your AuthRep transmission may have been accepted. Should you transmit it again and it was already accepted, the CRA will send a message to indicate that they already have the authorization on file.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) authorization system is experiencing issues receiving transmissions of authorization requests. Attempts to transmit an AuthRep requests from TaxCycle T1 currently return the following message:

Error: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.

The CRA has confirmed that the T1 authorization system is experiencing a disruption and will advise us once it is fixed.
