TaxFolder Update (May 7, 2021)

On May 7, 2021, we updated TaxFolder with the following enhancements and fixes.

Improved User Experience When Requesting a Verification Code

  1. The field for entering the last four digits of your phone number is preceded by the first seven numbers to make it clearer than you need to complete the phone number.
  2. The View Documents(s) button is disabled by default.
  3. After completing the phone number, a section for resending the code or requesting a voice call appears. These actions are now buttons instead of links to make it easier to choose the option.
  4. The View Documents(s) button only becomes active once you enter the six-digit verification code.
  5. Download an updated version of the end-user instructions. (An updated video to show this improved process will follow in the coming weeks.)

Other Enhancements

  • Added a tool for resizing the firm logo in Settings.
  • Added a warning that displays if cookies are blocked or JavaScript disabled when attempting to sign a document. This includes links to instructions on how to enable these settings. This issue primarily affects iPhone and iPad users where Safari is the default browser.
  • Customer Suggestion Changed the button text for document approvals from Done to Exit to indicate that this will close the window.
  • Added an Approval Required status label in the client Documents list.
  • Updated to allow 3-digit country codes in the client record and for sending documents for approval or signature from TaxFolder.

Resolved Issues

  • Resolved an error preventing documents from being manually marked as Completed.
  • Fixed an issue with the signature box moving when you attempt to sign a document if the signature begins near the top of the box.

Resolved Issue Coming in the Next TaxCycle Release

  • T1032—Electronic signature boxes showing on the wrong signature line when the principal taxpayer was the recipient of the pension income split. This fix applies to DocuSign® and TaxFolder.
