Known Issue: Blank Welcome Screen on Startup

We have received reports from some users who are experiencing a blank Welcome screen immediately after opening TaxCycle.

Issue

When launching TaxCycle after updating to the latest release (version 16.0.63710.0), the Welcome screen appears completely blank.

Workaround

Use another way to open a TaxCycle return, then close that return and the Welcome screen will reappear. Or, you can leave that return open and click the File menu, then Start.

Alternatives for opening or creating a new TaxCycle return include:

  • Clicking the Open button in the Quick Access Toolbar at the top of the TaxCycle window.
  • Opening TaxCycle, then right-clicking the TaxCycle icon in the Windows taskbar and selecting Open return or creating any type of new TaxCycle return. 
  • Double-clicking on a TaxCycle file from the Windows file explorer.

Alternatively, you can roll back to version 15.2.62988.0. Do a full uninstall and reinstall with the prior version.

Anticipated Resolution

Our team is currently investigating the cause of this issue and plans to resolve it in the next release.
