TRACS Rejecting Signed Alberta Consent Form PDF Signed Using TaxFolder

The Alberta Tax and Revenue Administration Client Self-Service (TRACS) online services for the Alberta Consent Form for third-party organizations will reject the signed PDF from TaxFolder. This is because it has the signature certificate page included as part of the PDF. This is not transmitted from TaxCycle but rather when the document is manually uploaded in the TRACS system.

Workaround

Before attaching the document for transmission in TaxCycle, remove the electronic signature certificate page from the PDF file.

  • If you have software that allows you to edit a PDF file (like Adobe Acrobat Pro), open the PDF and save the first page only, and then upload.
  • You can also save it as an image file and then upload it to the TRACS system.
