TP-1000 Authorization Form

Updated: 2023-04-17

The TP-1000 is the equivalent of a federal T183 form, authorizing the preparer to electronically file the Québec TP1 return.

If you do not have full authorization to represent a taxpayer, or if you do not want to request it using an MR-69 form, you can complete the TP-1000.TE-V to receive authorization just for NetFile Québec.

TP-1000 Authorization Default

The TP-1000 is completed based on the default values set in TaxCycle Options:

  1. Go to the File menu, then Options. Or, if you are on the Start screen, click Options in the blue bar on the left.
  2. On the left, expand T1/TP1 and click on New File to apply the settings to all years. To set different options for a particular year, expand the section and click on a year.
  3. On the right, scroll down to the TP1000 Default values section.
  4. Select an option under Authorized to represent taxpayer:
    • Choose No default to set the option each time you prepare a return.
    • Choose Yes to default all new returns to request authorization.
    • Choose No to default all new returns to not request authorization.

Signing Date on the TP-1000

The TP-1000 has a check box at the top of the form to enter the signing date based on the date set in the Filing section of the Info worksheet. If you answer No to this question, manually enter the signing date.
