State of Documents in TaxFolder

To view the state of documents of your engagement in TaxFolder, go to the Engagement Status page in the Preparer Dashboard and scroll to the Approvals and Signatures section. 

Depending on the action taken or that needs to be taken by the client, you will see the following document states next to the signature or approval request:

  • Created—The signature or approval request email was created.
  • Sent—The request email was sent to the client for signature or approval.
  • Viewed—The client completed authentication and viewed the document.
  • Incomplete—Not all signers have signed the document. 
  • Completed—The document was signed manually or electronically. You can hover your mouse over the Completed badge to show how the client signed the document.
  • Expired—The signature or approval request expired. Signature and approval request emails expire after 14 days. If this happens, you can verify the email address and resend the request. See the Resend the TaxFolder Signature Request Email help topic for more information.
  • Voided—The signature or approval request email was voided. See the Void the TaxFolder Signature Request Email help topic for more information.
  • Declined—The signature or approval request email was declined by the client.
  • Failed—The signature or approval request email failed.
