Monitor a Scanning Station

Updated: 2024-07-11

If your office uses a scanning station or has a dedicated person in the office who does all the scanning, you can configure DoxCycle to monitor a folder on the network for new files. This way, whenever a new file appears in that folder, you have the option to import it into DoxCycle.

Set Up a Monitored Folder for Scanned Documents

  1. To open Options from the Start screen, click Options in the green bar on the left side. If you have a file open, go to the File menu, then click Options.
  2. On the left side of the dialog box, expand the DoxCycle section, and click on Monitor.
  3. Check Enable Folder Monitoring and Unassigned Documents gallery.
  4. Browse to the folder on your computer or network that you want to monitor.
  5. Choose what DoxCycle should do with the document after importing it. Remember to select a Move To folder if you choose that option. (Note: DoxCycle cannot move documents found in a network location to the Recycle Bin.)
  6. Click OK or Apply to save your options.

Import Unassigned Documents

Once you configure folder monitoring, it works in the following way:

  1. When someone scans a new document and saves it in the folder, it appears in the Unassigned Documents gallery on the Home tab.
  2. Click the add link to import the document. After importing, DoxCycle will either leave the document or remove it, based on what you have set in options.
  3. Click the remove link to delete or move the document based on what you set in options.
  4. Use the buttons to scroll through the list of documents.
  5. Hover over a document in the gallery to preview it.
