Recent List on the Start Screen

  1. After clicking on a module on the Start screen, you will see a list of recently-opened files for the selected module.
  2. Click on a name to reopen the file.
  3. If the file is coupled, click on the spouse's name to open the file to their return.
  4. If the file contains a full dependant return, click on the dependant's name to open the file to their return.
  5. Hover over the entry to see a summary of the workflow status of each person's return.

  6. Right-click on an entry in the list to:
    • Open the file in a new TaxCycle window.
    • Show the file in the folder in Windows® Explorer.
    • Remove it from the list of recent files. (This is also removes the file from the Recent sidebar.)
    • Clear the recent files list. (This also clears the list of all files from the Recent sidebar and restores the link to the sample file on the Start menu screen.)

  1. Click the Recent sidebar on the Start screen to see a list of the clients and returns you last worked on from all modules.
  2. Select an option from the menu at the top of the sidebar to change the sorting and grouping of files.
  3. Check Show only T1/TP1 to remove other tax return types from the list.
  4. Click on a name to reopen the file.
  5. If the file is coupled, click on the spouse's name to open the file to their return.
  6. If the file contains a full dependant return, click on the dependant's name to open the file to their return.
  7. Hover over the entry to see a summary of the workflow status of each person's return.
  8. Right-click on an entry in the list to:
    • Open the file in a new TaxCycle window.
    • Show the file in the folder in Windows® Explorer.
    • Remove it from the sidebar. (This is also removes the file from the Recent list of the module.)
    • Clear the list of recent files. (This also clears the list of all files from the Recent sidebar and restores the link to the sample file on the Start menu screen.)

Recent Files page in the File menu

  1. When you have a return open, click the File menu and select Recent.
  2. Click an item under the Current windows list to bring that window to the top.
  3. The list of Recent files contains the same display and options as that in the recent sidebar above.
  4. Click an item under Recent places to open that folder in Windows® Explorer.
