Install a Template File

If someone sends you a template file to use, you can easily add it to your templates folder. 

Add One File

1. From the Start screen, click Options in the blue bar on the left side of the window. If you have a file open, go to the File menu, then click Options.
2. On the left side of the dialog box, expand Files and Folders and click on Template Files.
3. Right-click on the list of template files and select Add file to this folder.
4. Browse for the template file and click Open.
5. Click OK or Apply to save changes.

Add Multiple Template Files

If you need to add more than one file to the folder, the easiest way to copy and paste the files into the templates folder using Windows Explorer.

1. From the Start screen, click Options in the blue bar on the left side of the window. If you have a file open, go to the File menu, then click Options.
2. On the left side of the dialog box, expand Files and Folders and click on Template Files.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the window and click the link to open your Templates folder or Options Profile zip file in Windows Explorer.
   
4. If needed, double-click to open the Templates folder. This is only necessary if you store your templates in and Options Profile zip file.
5. Copy and paste the template file into the Templates folder.
6. Return to TaxCycle and close the Options dialog without saving and open a file to test the templates.
