If you use Parallels Desktop (or a similar program) to run Windows in a virtual machine on a Mac, you may find that TaxCycle’s keyboard shortcuts, such as F4 to open the Fast Find box, do not work as expected.
The top row of keys on an Apple keyboard are called function keys. By default, these keyboard function keys are set up to control system features, as indicated by an icon on the key. For example, you can use F11 as a keyboard shortcut to show the desktop or to decrease your computer’s volume.
To use the function keys for TaxCycle keyboard shortcuts, change the following setting on your Mac:
Once you change this setting, you can still access the default Mac actions for these keys by pressing and holding the Fn key or Globe key (on newer Mac keyboards) while you press the function key.
